SNSD Yuri on Running Man Full Episode 101031

SNSD “Hoot” comeback on Inkigayo

The SNSD girls never seem to stop, and here they are back again after seven months with their new title song, “Hoot“, despite being in the midst of promoting their Japanese singles.

With a 009 James Bond-ish concept, the girls have gone retro this time, as they begun their full promotions with their final comeback stage on the October 31st episode of Inkigayo.

They had an interview early in the show.

Finally, watch as the girls perform “Hoot” and “It’s My Fault/Mistake.”

SNSD wants their own radio program

SNSD has been taking both Japan and Korea by storm, and it seems like they’ve barely found the time to breathe. On October 30th, the group sat down to meet with a reporter for KBS 2TV’s “Entertainment Relay“. During the interview, the reporter asked about what the group wanted to do in the future.

SNSD replied, “We’d like to run an SNSD radio program.” Member Jessica elaborated, “A program where the DJ changes every day. We have a lot of fun things to talk about.”

Sooyoung continued, “We wouldn’t even need to invite a separate guest since we already have so many members.” However, Jessica disagreed and said, “I’d like to invite guests.”

When asked which guest they would like to invite, Jessica thought for a moment before tactfully answering, “Everyone~”

SNSD “Hoot” comeback on Music Core

The SNSD girls never seem to stop, and here they are back again after seven months with their new title song, “Hoot“, despite being in the midst of promoting their Japanese singles.

With a 009 James Bond-ish concept, the girls have gone retro this time, as they continued with their second comeback stage on the October 30th episode of Music Core.

Beside “Hoot”, the girls also performed another track, “My Best Friend“.

Psy & SG Wannabe’s Lee Seok Hoon defend SNSD

SG Wannabe’s Lee Seok Hoon left a stinging message against those who had attended the 47th Daejong Film Awards yesterday on his personal Twitter.

On October 29th, he tweeted, “Was it that hard to clap?! Was it that hard to smile?! How could your bodies have stayed still when music was playing?! This is too much!!”

SNSD performed “Oh!” and “Hoot” but was met with a cold response from the movie stars present. MC Shin Dong Yup attempted to ameliorate the situation by stating, “American awards shows enjoy performances like this, I think our male actors are focusing too hard on one spot!”

Netizens were also disappointed with the attitude, “Are they trying to say that they’re a higher class than singers just because they’re actors?” “The actors were definitely acting too cocky,” and “It was so embarrasing for me to watch on SNSD’s behalf. The actors must think they’re so important.”

Other netizens retorted with, “Inviting idols to perform was the first mistake. SNSD should’ve stuck with songs everyone knows, it just seemed like they went there to promote their new song, not congratulate the show,” “OST singers should’ve been invited instead,” and “This was not a place for idol singers. They were out of place and out of their league.”

Singer Psy also defended SNSD on his me2Day, “The awards show today must’ve been really godly and luxurious, hmm? I was too busy singing and wasn’t able to watch it, but it seems like the general sentiment after reading here and there…. They should’ve invited a guy like me so I can trespass into the audience… ^^ You know, people sit down to watch good shows and stand up to watch bad shows.”

SNSD and 2PM experience mixed reactions at 47th Daejong Film Awards

Having performed just a few hours earlier on Music Bank, SNSD and 2PM headed straight for Kyunghee University’s Hall of Peace for the 47th Daejong Film Awards.

Both groups had been invited to perform congratulatory stages during the two hour long ceremony, with SNSD performing “Oh!” and “Hoot“, while 2PM did “Only You” and “I’ll Be Back.”

Without their regular fan support among the audience comprising of mainly production staff, esteemed guests, directors, actors, actresses, etc, they experienced mixed reactions while performing.

SNSD had to suffer through indifferent reactions and motionless expressions from the actors when the cameras focused on them during their congratulatory performance stage.

Having noted the response, MC Shin Dong Yup made a remark that everyone seemed to look rather stiff which probably lightened up the audience a little.

2PM fared slightly better, as they invoked some crowd reaction during “Only You” by handing roses to Lee Min Jung and Jo Yeo Jung, while Taecyeon gave his to MC Kim Jung Eun. Many other actresses smiled and were probably hoping that they were the ones who would receive a rose.

They also got a livelier response in their second performance, “I’ll Be Back.”

Check out all the performances below.

SNSD “Hoot” comeback on Music Bank!

The SNSD girls never seem to stop, and here they are back again after seven months with their new title song, “Hoot“, despite being in the midst of promoting their Japanese singles.

With a 009 James Bond-ish concept, the girls have gone retro this time, as they begun their full promotions with their first comeback stage on the October 29th episode of Music Bank.

So watch as the girls “Hoot” their way into your hearts once again.

SNSD establishes another sensation with ‘Robin Hood’ dance

The ‘Robin Hood dance’ in SNSD’s comeback performance for “Hoot” is poised to cause yet another highly-explosive sensation!

The group performed the ‘Robin Hood dance’ for the first time in public at the pre-recording for KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank.” Why is it called the ‘Robin Hood’ dance, you ask? The girls utilize the action of drawing back a bow and arrow in their choreography, which emphasizes their long, slender limbs.

Unfortunately, Yuri slipped and fell during the group’s camera rehearsal but quickly got up and completed the song, demonstrating her professional work ethic.

Members and staff immediately rushed up to her to check if she was okay, and Yuri responded with a bright smile, thankfully assuring that she was fine.

Meanwhile, SNSD’s “Hoot” MV has achieved more than a million views less than a day after its release.

WGM’s Yong Hwa and Seo Hyun go on their 200th-day date

The ‘YongSeo Couple’ of MBC’s “We Got Married” went on a ’school uniform date’ in celebration of their 200th day as a couple.

In the episode, CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa and SNSD’s Seo Hyun successfully complete their first couple-duet stage and hold a 200th day celebration party. Hilariously, husband Jung Yong Hwa insists on making it a memorable one by wearing school uniforms for their date.

According to the producers, the two enjoyed a simple outing until Jung Yong Hwa brought out a three-set present for Seo Hyun. The presents were said to have been specially prepared for his wife, who will soon be leaving to promote with SNSD in Japan.

The heartwarming episode will be revealed in full on October 30th.

Also check out unseen footage of the YongSeo couple during their MC duty for Music Core with SNSD’s Yuri which was released through WGM’s official website.

SNSD reaches 1st on Oricon, makes history

Previously SNSD made history by ranking number 2 on Oricon’s weekly chart. Apparently, the girls have made history once again on the Japanese music chart by finally reaching 1st on the Oricon Daily, today with their single “Gee“.

They will be the first non-Japanese Asian girl group to reach number 1 on the daily chart. As of now, SNSD holds both 1st and 10th on the chart with their previous single “Genie” taking number 10.

SNSD achieves 150K+ pre-order sales for ‘Hoot’

SNSD is in high spirits as their new mini album “Hoot” has exceeded the 150,000 pre-order sales mark.

The pre-order sales for “Hoot,” is comprised of 51,000 from online orders and 99,490 from offline stores. This pre-order success has once again proven the mighty power of SNSD.

Meanwhile, with the release of “Hoot” on the 27th of October, SNSD will commence their activities starting off with a grand comeback stage on KBS “Music Bank” on the 29th.

SNSD’s “Hoot” mini-album released!

And make sure to pick up the album at Yesasia!

SNSD reveals MV for “Hoot”!

The beautiful ladies of SNSD/Girls’ Generation have been driving fanboys wild with concept and video teaser for their 3rd mini album track, “훗 / Hoot.” But now, fan girls have a reason to go crazy as well, because Choi Si Won makes a guest appearance in the music video.

Check it out!

The MV was certainly well worth the wait!

On a side note, people have been asking about the cowboy/cowgirl western theme, and SM Entertainment is either very clever, or it was a complete coincidence, but…if you look closely at the hangul for “Hoot”, you should be able to notice that it looks like a person with a cowboy hat on.

2AM talks about competition with SNSD

2AM’s Jo Kwon has revealed his feelings on releasing the group’s first official album after spending nearly 10 years a JYPE trainee.

The group held an album showcase and press conference for “Saint O’Clock” on October 27th and stated, “We still can’t believe it, that’s how glad we are.”

Leader Jo Kwon continued, “When I first received ‘This Song‘ as a trainee, I practiced extremely hard to sing that one song. At the time, I waited for my debut without greed. Having always seen mini-albums, it’s hard to believe that we finally have an 11 track official album.”

With their debut in 2008, 2AM began releasing singles and mini-albums while going into acting and making variety program appearances. After two years and three months, the group finally produced their first official album consisting of 11 tracks.

Jo Kwon added, “Listeners will be able to hear a variety of different genres. There are standard and limited editions produced. You will not be disappointed.”

2AM will be promoting two tracks for this promotion cycle, including “You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls” and “Like Crazy.” Changmin introduced the songs by stating, “‘Like Crazy’ focuses primarily on the melody while ‘You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls’ focuses on each of the members’ voices. Listening to the two different atmospheres will be an enjoyable experience.”

The group relied on research from Nielsen Korea in order to choose their title tracks. Due to receiving a positive response on both of the songs, they decided to go with a double title promotion. Jinwoon added, “We have different outfits and music videos for both songs.”

Jo Kwon went on to thank SNSD for their overlapping promotion cycles. “Our cycles overlapped during our ‘Can’t Send You Even if I Die‘ cycle. We’re competitors with good intentions. I personally bought and listened to ‘Hoot‘ and found that it’s a very bright, cute song. I’m thankful for them for giving me another opportunity to express my kkap.”

Regarding the competition, Jo Kwon continued, “Our song is a ballad that fits well with the cold winter season. I think there will be a lot of people that are looking for ballad songs.”

Shoujo Jidai (SNSD) makes an appearance on HEY!HEY!HEY!

Last week we reported that Shoujo Jidai (SNSD) would appear on popular Fuji TV variety show HEY! HEY! HEY! Music Champ and they made their much anticipated appearance on October 25th.

The opening of the show talked about their success in Korea and how they were #1 for 9 weeks straight in 2009, The introduction also talked about how more than 22,000 fans attended their debut event in Japan. After the introduction video, each of the girls introduced themselves and member Sooyoung did most of the talking as she’s very good with Japanese. Before joining Girls’ Generation, Sooyoung had a career in Japan as part of the Korean-Japanese Idol Duo Route 0, along with Marina Takahashi.

For the majority of the appearance, Sooyoung talks about a message received from senpai BoA.

BoA’s comments about DownTown, “Hamada-san seems a bit scary at first, but everytime I see him backstage before going on air, he talks to me nicely and is very gentleman like… Matsumoto san on the otherhand, everytime I say hi to him, he’s not really nice! During the recording of Hey! x3 he always makes me seem like a bad person… girls will have to be careful not to get picked on by him.”

BoA also congratulated Matsumoto on his baby and recent recovery from his health problems. The girls then went on to perform ‘Gee.’ Check it all out below:

SNSD speaks at ‘G20 Star Supporters’ promotional event

After being appointed as honorary “G20 Star Supporters“, SNSD set out on October 25th to participate in “Speak At the Top of G20“, a campaign activity aiming to promote the G20 summit to youths.

Due to their various Japanese promotions, the girls were unable to attend the ceremony last week; consequently, this will be their first official activity as G20 summit supporters.

Speaking at the Coex Millennium Plaza, all 9 ladies utilized various video footages and pictures to help deliver their messages in a more personal way to their target audience.

SNSD stated, “We were extremely glad whenever we heard that fans became interested in Korea through our overseas activities. We hope that this summit will allow more people to learn about Korea.”

SNSD’s Yuri wrote a song for “Hoot” mini-album

SNSD’s Yuri hidden songwriting abilities have been revealed! Apparently, she participated in both the behind-the-scenes and delivery of SNSD’s latest mini-album, “Hoot“.

“Hoot” consists of five very different songs and features efforts from many famous producers and writers such as Wheesung, Jinu, Kenzie, and Hwang Hyun.

Member Yuri wrote the lyrics for “It’s My Fault,” SNSD’s first ever R&B ballad track. The lyrics feature the sweet emotions and feelings of a young girl.

Other tracks include “First Snowfall..,” SNSD’s love song for young couples in the winter time, and “Best Friend,” a track that expresses the love and friendship between the members of SNSD. “Wake Up” declines in a more melancholic mood through sad lyrics being delivered to a loved one.

We can’t wait to hear what Yuri and the ladies have got in store for us! “Hoot” is scheduled for release on October 27th and the girls will start full promotions 2 days later.

Oricon predicts SNSD to attend Kohaku?

Earlier today, Oricon released their predictions on which artists will be invited to the much coveted annual music show Kōhaku Uta Gassen. Oricon predicted that both SNSD / Girls’ Generation would be invited to the red team. For those that don’t know what Kohaku is and why it’s such a big deal, here’s an excerpt from wikipedia which explains it pretty well:

Kōhaku Uta Gassen more commonly known as simply Kohaku, is an annual music show on New Year’s Eve produced by Japanese public broadcaster NHK and broadcast on both television and radio, nationally and internationally by NHK’s networks and some overseas broadcasters… Literally “Red and White Song Battle,” the program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The “red” team or akagumi is composed of all female artists (or groups with female vocals), while the “white” team or shirogumi is all male (or groups with male vocals). The honor of performing on Kohaku is strictly by invitation, so only the most successful J-POP artists and enka singers can perform. Even today, a performance on Kohaku is said to be a big highlight in a singer’s career because of the show’s large reach.

In the past, both BoA and TVXQ received invites to the show. Both BoA and TVXQ were Oricon chart toppers and waited years before receiving the invite. So to some it’s a bit surprising that Oricon is predicting that two groups that just debuted in Japan would be receiving invites. However, despite debuting recently both girl groups are enjoying a lot of success in Japan. SNSD was RIAJ Certified Gold with their Genie single, meaning they moved over 100,000 units.

Here’s a full run down of the predictions provided by Oricon:

SNSD’s Official Website unveils larger image of all 9 girls for ‘Hoot’

Having revealed individual concept photos for SNSD / Girls’ Generation’sHoot” mini album over the past three days, the SMTown official website is updated once again on day four.

Earlier today, their mini album cover was unveiled and the official website is updated with a larger picture from the album cover. Another picture was also added, putting all nine individual photos into one image. Unfortunately, a longer audio teaser wasn’t revealed.

We’ll now have to wait for the Music Video teaser which should be out on the 24th, so keep an eye out for it. Currently, SNSD is in Japan as they’re scheduled to perform on the October 22nd edition of Music Station.

Why is SNSD’s Seo Hyun the only member holding a bow?

Recently, SM Entertainment revealed three sets of photo teasers for SNSD’s guerrilla-type comeback on the idol group’s official website. For those of you who have yet to peep the photos, check out batches one, two, and three.

The teasers having been garnering explosive interest from both fans and the general public, as the concept screams a “retro ’60’s ‘James Bond“ theme. Rocking those thigh-high boots, most of the girls are posing with toy guns. Yet eagle-eyed fans have noticed that maknae Seo Hyun is the only one holding a white bow and arrow.

SM explained, “While it is a spy concept, we created the image to signify that we will lure the fans by shooting an arrow to their hearts. To further amplify the song’s meaning, Seo Hyun got to hold the bow. Other members also held the bow during the photoshoot, however we decided Seo Hyun suited holding the bow and arrow the best.”

SNSD will be revealing their MV teaser on October 24th at midnight. They will unleash their mini-album on the 27th, and finally make their official comeback through KBS ‘Music Bank’ on the 29th.

SNSD unveils “Hoot” album cover

Having revealed individual concept photos for their “Hoot” mini album over the past 3 days, we were expecting to see a group photo of SNSD tonight.

Well, SM Entertainment has pulled through by unveiling SNSD’s album cover, which shows all 9 girls posing in a 007 009 movie-like concept of a certain James Bond/Austin Powers franchise.

The girls will release their album on the 27th and appear on KBS2TV’s Music Bank 2 days later.

2AM goes up against SNSD for the third time this year

2AM will be going up against SNSD for the third time this year with their first official album, “Saint O’Clock,” due for release on October 26th, and SNSD’s “Hoot” due for release the next day on the 27th.

This is the third time their promotion cycles have overlapped, the first cycle being 2AM’s “Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die” going up against SNSD’s “Oh!,” both released just four days apart.

2AM’s follow-up track, “I Did Wrong,” was released on March 16th, and again, SNSD followed with “Run Devil Run” on March 22nd.

Although both of 2AM’s tracks were recorded as big hits, the majority of industry representatives believe that 2AM could have fared better if they weren’t up against SNSD during both promotion cycles.

They’ll be facing each other off once more, this time with SNSD’s guerrilla style release, already dominating portal sites and search rankings with just their teasers alone. But 2AM has been showing themselves as strong competitors as well. This being their first official album release, the anticipation for the album has remained consistently high, with their official homepage already crashing with just audio teasers.

Both groups have done fantastic thus far, with 2AM showing their power on digital music charts while SNSD dominating album sales charts. SNSD hit a home run right off the bat while 2AM steadily and consistently worked their way up. Each face-off has brought more changes in the styles of each group, from dance, to ballad, to mature concepts, and to cute concepts, furthering the anticipation of music fans as to what they’ll show off next, and how they’ll fare this time around.

SNSD’s Soo Young, Yuri and Jessica leave messages for fans on official website

With the hype around SNSD / Girls’ Generation’s surprise comeback heightening after the reveal of the last set of teaser pictures along with their mini album's tracklist, members Soo Young, Jessica and Yuri uploaded posts on their official website’s open board, where they talked about their excitement for their upcoming promotions.

SNSD’s Yuri voted #1 for glass-like skin

SNSD’s Yuri was voted the girl group member with the best skin.

A survey was conducted from September 27th to October 18th where 748 people voted on ‘The girl group member with the best glass-like skin without any blemishes?‘ SNSD’s Yuri won first place, earning 362 votes (48.3%). Second place went to 2NE1’s Dara, with 209 votes (27.9%). BEG’s Ga-In was third place with 167 votes (22.3%).

Dr. Han Seung Sub commented, ‘SNSD’s Yuri has clear and bright skin without blemishes or freckles. The skin is a good indication of your internal organs’ state. Yuri possesses clean and clear skin, which also means that she is in perfect health…Dara and Ga-In’s fresh faces also show that they have clear skin. Their bright skin tones can leave an impression of a gentle and cute girl.’

It’s also a neat coincidence that ‘yuri‘ means glass in Korean. Who do you think has the best skin?

SNSD to return to Korea with 3rd Mini Album!

SNSD/Girl's Generation to return to Korea with 3rd Mini Album. New teaser photos revealed on SNSD's Official Homepage.

This girls totally awesome. They still promote 'Genie' & 'Gee' in Japan and know they will comeback to Korea for 3rd Mini Album.

Currently, the only teaser photos are released for Jessica, Tiffany, and Seohyun. It seems like they’re going for a bit of a retro / Charlie’s Angels type theme with guns and weapons.

Wish all of them good luck!!!!
